NeuroMeditation for Grief & Loss
This course is designed for those who are experiencing grief and loss. Learn how to determine which styles of NeuroMeditation (brain-based meditation) are most helpful for the various thoughts, feelings, sensations and states which are a common part of the experience of grief and loss. Practice various movement meditations and sitting NeuroMeditations which are valuable through this process. Grief and loss can rock our world and thus can create ongoing struggles with anxiety, depression and depressive cycles, identity issues and other difficult reactions. NeuroMeditation can help you increase the ability to know what style of meditation you need as you journey through the various movements of grief and loss.

Through this class students will learn: the basics of using NeuroMeditation for Grief/Loss; how NM impacts the brain, the nervous system and the Vagus Nerve and how that relates to the Grief/Loss; how and when to use the most helpful NeuroMeditations for Grief/Loss; how to practice movement meditation and sitting NeuroMeditations for Grief/Loss - using a variety of imagery and senses.

Learning Objectives:
As a result of completing the course, students will be able to:
understand the impact of Grief/Loss on the brain, body and psyche
determine which NeuroMeditation style to use to respond to various aspects of Grief/Loss
express the connection between Grief/Loss and our Vagus Nerve
the impact it has on our nervous system
basics about the nerve
the critical role it plays in our lived experience of daily life
practice movement meditations helpful for Grief/Loss
practice various sitting NeuroMeditations for Grief/Loss, bringing soothing comfort and peace
ascertain which of the senses they connect with most as a route to strengthen the recall of memories and to reconnect with the present moment
determine what type of imagery they most connect with and understand the importance of connecting with the "right" imagery for the each individual
access links and other resources for continued practice and other tools that can be beneficial for people experiencing Grief & Loss
After the course, students will have: a basic understanding of NeuroMeditation and the Vagus Nerve and their role in our experience of Grief/Loss; knowledge of how and when to practice the various NeuroMeditation styles most helpful for Grief/Loss; experience soothing and supporting the self, through Grief/Loss, with movement meditations and sitting meditations; insight into which senses and imagery their brains connect with most easily; the tools and ability to continue independent practice at home.
