Course Description
NeuroMeditation for Complicated Grief & Loss
Grief has many forms, varieties and types. Regardless of the many shared phases of Grief/Loss, the timing and manifestation are entirely individual. The pathway Grief/Loss takes for any person cannot be predicted, cannot be forced, cannot be skipped. When Grief/Loss are "Complicated" by many different possible factors, the result can feel as though the rug has been pulled out from beneath us; leaving us feeling disoriented, and as though we are endlessly falling, and without a sense of ground. Complicated Grief takes a massive toll on us which makes processing and moving forward incredibly difficult. NeuroMeditation (brain-based meditation) can aid us in reconnecting with our ground, soothing our pain when needed, supporting us through the turblent disruptions that come, honoring what we are experiencing, generating a sense of connection with self and others - of being woven into life, fostering acceptance and creating a foundation of safety, to go THROUGH this process, and move forward into life.
Through this class students will learn: the basics of using NeuroMeditation for the many issues arising from Complicated Grief/Loss; how NeuroMeditation impacts the brain, the nervous system and the Vagus Nerve and how that relates to Complicated Grief; which NeuroMeditation styles are most helpful for various aspects of this experience; how to regulate the nervous system with NM; how to practice movement meditation and sitting NeuroMeditations to bring safety, calm, balance and to restore the system; how to identify which of the senses engage their brain the most, and which imagery is best for them.
