Course Description
Course Description: This in-depth course is dedicated to the Focus Style of NeuroMeditation (NM), a foundational practice highly effective for newcomers and experienced meditators alike. Focus NM is a powerful tool for interrupting the racing mind and establishing greater self-control over cognitive and emotional reactions. The course provides a scientific breakdown of how this style positively impacts the brain by increasing sustained attention, reducing mind-wandering (by quieting the Default Mode Network), and actively promoting neuroplasticity. Students will learn the various techniques within Focus NM to balance the mind, strengthen new neural pathways, and effectively interrupt the amygdala's stress signaling. The curriculum emphasizes experiential learning, integrating both sitting and movement meditations to connect students with the optimal sensory routes and imagery for their unique neurobiology.
Key Learning Outcomes:
Understand the neurological mechanics of Focus NM, including its direct impact on brain plasticity and the pathways of the Vagus Nerve.
Master various Focus NM techniques to effectively interrupt the Default Mode Network and decrease self-referential mind-wandering.
Apply Focus NM as a powerful tool for regulating the nervous system, improving cognitive self-awareness, and increasing a sense of control over daily experience.
Determine the optimal sensory or imagery route for personal practice, enabling the immediate and effective use of Focus NM to respond to states of stress, anxiety, or low energy.
