Course Description
Course Description:
The vast majority of people struggle with chronic stress and its resulting dysregulation. This course provides effective, brain-based tools using NeuroMeditation (NM) to reduce the impact of stress, manage the acute stress response, and dramatically improve quality of life. Students will gain a deep understanding of how stress impacts the brain, nervous system, and the Vagus Nerve. The curriculum is focused on teaching students how to accurately select the most helpful NM style—at any given moment—to restore internal balance. Practices are designed to increase calm and quiet in the system, actively shifting it into the parasympathetic rest/safe state. Students will master techniques to bring stillness to the racing mind, cultivate interoception (awareness of body signals), and foster a profound sense of being grounded and anchored in an immovable center, building resilience against future stressors. The curriculum emphasizes experiential learning, integrating both sitting and movement meditations to connect students with the optimal sensory routes and imagery for their unique neurobiology.
Key Learning Outcomes:
Understand the neurological foundation of stress, including its negative effects on the brain and the critical role of the Vagus Nerve in the stress response.
Determine which of the four core NeuroMeditation styles is most effective for different manifestations of stress (e.g., racing thoughts, physical tension, emotional reactivity).
Apply specific NM practices to reduce overall stress levels and quickly regulate the nervous system, returning the mind and body to a state of calm and balance.
Cultivate self-awareness and interoception to identify the onset of stress and deploy the most effective sensory or imagery-based NM pathway for immediate self-regulation.
